Larned is an industry leader with feet planted in both the manufacturing and dealership sectors. Larned has been president of Culligan’s North American business since 2015, leading product  development, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of Culligan products in collaboration with the Culligan Dealer network.

This year, we are honored to have Judd speaking at our AGM on Wednesday, October 16 at 4 pm.

Chubb Michaud

CHARLES "CHUBB" MICHAUD

Chubb is the owner and Technical Director of Systematix Company. When Chubb started his company in 1982, his experience was from a rather broad industrial chemical background which included polymeric coatings, plastics, chemical intermediates and ion exchange. As business expanded, it soon became apparent that there was no easy way for smaller companies in the water treatment business to gain access to the same informational technologies available to the larger, well established giants in the industry. He made it his focus to change that. Having a strong engineering background, it was easy for him to interpret the complex design parameters of the water treatment trade and convert them to terms and application limits that were easier to understand. It was his intent to give the “little guy” a fighting chance when going up against the hierarchy of the “big guys”. He researched the available literature on “how to” technology and found it rather limited. So, he wrote and/or delivered well over 100 papers and articles to help uncover the mysteries of water treatment in order to instill a higher level of confidence at the small manufacturing level. This symbiotic relationship has helped him to grow his business while helping others to grow theirs.

She then transferred her skills and began working in the Water Treatment industry as a Sales Manager with an industry leading company. In that capacity, she has reorganized training programs, conducted regional workshops, worked directly with on-boarding and training of new sales representatives, and became a Master Water Specialist with the Water Quality Association. She is most proud of the teams she has led in reaching their goals and meeting and exceeding expectations. Candice feels that training is one of her best skills and has received consistent positive feedback for her ability to connect management with their sales people in a candid and energetic manner. Adrian Cavlan

Adrian Cavlan

Adrian Cavlan is a relative newcomer to the water treatment industry but has had a successful career as a small business owner for more than 30 years. He and his wife, Shawn, purchased Quality Water, a 20-year-old water store in Aptos, CA, just as the pandemic began to unfold. In the past four years, they have nearly doubled the size of the business. Adrian recognized the needed to quickly learn as much as possible about water and its treatment. Fortunately, he found his way to WQA and various online communities where he accessed valuable resources. In 2023, he earned his CWS classification and obtained his California C-55 Water Conditioning contractor’s license. He is currently pursuing his CST classification. Adrian joined the PWQA Board of Directors in 2023 and currently serves as Treasurer.
